The first week

My first week of 2007 was spent in Louisiana working with a team from Suncrest to help rebuild two homes. It was an awesome experience. Getting one particular house to a stage where the family could move in after 16 months was amazing. To the left is a picture of me (after spraying a house) and my good friend Michael, construction leader of our team. You may wonder from the picture if I got any paint on the walls.

Being away from home and my routine presented a few challenges to getting into the Bible. That might sound odd since I was on a mission's trip, but just being in a strange place on a different schedule made it a little tougher. But I was able to keep up with it even though one night I read two days worth. It was well worth it and provided spiritual energy where I was lacking physical.

How did your first week go? Let me know by commenting. Getting a blogger account is fast and easy. I know for many this is something you have done before. For others, it is brand new. For all of us, it will be a great experience.

Blessings,

Doug

I'm trying to find a regular time to read each day to be better able to make it a habit for me.

The regular time each day is so huge. Let us know what you find out as far as the best time for you. Typically first thing in the morning is best for me, but some days that gets thrown off. Same time, same place is a huge key though.

How fun! What a great idea for encouragement and to get us connected. (I gotta meet Leslie...) My hours at work are so varied that it is really hard for me to have a consistent time to read, but this one thing I know: I better get offline and do it NOW! :+)
